Pop Shoes donates $105,828 to Opération Enfant Soleil

Deschaillons, June 8, 2022 – Pop Shoes stores exceeded their campaign goal by donating $105,828 last Sunday during the Opération Enfant Soleil Telethon, broadcast live on TVA from the Capitole Theater.

For seven weeks, stores across Quebec sold tickets Maison Enfant Soleil signed Bonneville 2022 at $12, the entire price of which was donated to Opération Enfant Soleil. This campaign, which was a great success, sold no less than 8,819 tickets.

" We chose this cause because theThe values of our Pop Shoes stores and those of Opération Enfant Soleil come together naturally. Their families are also our families, who come to get shoes, sandals or sneakers every season.", explains Manon Rivard, Director of Communications. The sums collected by each store will thus return to the nearest hospitals, to help customers and their children if they need medical help.

We knew breaking the $100,000 mark was possible because Merchants and their teams showed commitment and heart from the first day of the campaign until the very end.

Marcel Croteau, from the Granby store, took up the challenge brilliantly. « We used lots of red and yellow balloons to add color to our store. We had a wall of stick figures with the names of people who had purchased tickets. It was getting bigger and bigger and we even ended up running out of space to stick them on! Our future is the children. It was natural for us to get involved in the cause. »

Coming with her daughter Virginie, Annie Morissette from the Drummondville store, unveiled the large sum during the Telethon. « Mthe daughter almost came into the world at 31 week, so she could have had a lot of complications. I had the privilege of having healthy children and I therefore find it important to invest myself in sick children and their families. »

Both of them, as well as the dozens of other merchants on our territory, are looking forward to relive the experience next year!

"I had the pleasure of talking with your people in stores during motivation calls and I must say that I immediately saw how you have a great team, with human value and commitment", wrote David Archambault, Vice-President, Corporate Development and Partnership.

From the management of the company, Pierre Côté also wished to thank all the merchants and their teams, as well as the generous customers who without them, we would not have achieved such a feat. "It's all together that we have made the difference", he testifies moved.

As a conclusion to this philanthropic mission, the children patients and their families received a powerful wave of hope and comfort from across the province throughout the day of the Telethon, which peaked at a record $20,682,867.

It is therefore an appointment for 2023!
