POP Shoes Donates $105,828 to Opération Enfant Soleil
Deschaillons, June 8, 2022 – POP Shoes stores exceeded their campaign goal by donating $105,828 last Sunday during the Opération Enfant Soleil Telethon, broadcast live on TVA from the Capitole Theatre.

For seven weeks, stores across Quebec sold tickets for the 2022 Bonneville Maison Enfant Soleil signed edition at $12 each, with the entire price donated to Opération Enfant Soleil. This highly successful campaign sold no fewer than 8,819 tickets.
“We chose this cause because thevalues of our POP Shoes stores naturally align with those of Opération Enfant Soleil. Their families are also our families, who come to buy shoes, sandals, or sneakers every season,”, explains Manon Rivard, Communications Director. The funds raised by each store will return to the nearest hospitals to help customers and their children if they need medical assistance.
We knew it was possible to surpass the $100,000 mark because the merchants and their teams showed commitment and heart from the first day of the campaign until the very end.
Marcel Croteau, from the Granby store, rose to the challenge brilliantly. “We used lots of red and yellow balloons to add color to our store. We had a wall of figures with the names of people who bought tickets. It kept growing bigger and we even ran out of space to stick them! Our future is the children. It was natural for us to get involved in this cause.”
Accompanied by her daughter Virginie, Annie Morissette from the Drummondville store revealed the significant amount during the Telethon. “My daughter was almost born at 31 weeks, so she could have had many complications. I have been privileged to have healthy children, and I find it important to invest myself in helping sick children and their families.”
Both of them, along with dozens of other merchants in our territory, are eager to relive the experience next year!

“I had the pleasure of speaking with your store teams during the motivational calls, and I immediately saw how you have a wonderful, human-centered, and committed team,” wrote David Archambault, Vice President, Corporate Development and Partnerships.
From the company’s management, Pierre Côté also wished to thank all the merchants and their teams, as well as the generous customers without whom such an achievement would not have been possible. “Together, we made a difference,” he said emotionally.

In conclusion to this philanthropic mission, sick children and their families received a powerful wave of hope and comfort from across the province throughout the Telethon day, which culminated in a record sum of $20,682,867.
So, see you in 2023!
POP Shoes was founded in 1985. At that time, Côté-Reco inc developed a group of independent merchants to create a remarkable sales force while establishing a common image in the footwear sector. It features major brands such as Nike, Adidas, Skechers, Clarks, Baffin, and a wide range of private labels that are trendy, comfortable, and sporty. POP Shoes is considered the largest group of owner-operated footwear retailers in Canada. No fewer than 80 stores are spread across the provinces of Quebec, Ontario, and New Brunswick.
