$47,500 donated to Leucan: the One More Step Together campaign for children with cancer and their families was a success
On October 27, the successful conclusion of the One More Step Together campaign for children with cancer and their families took place with the Leucan MD Shaved Heads Challenge, presented by Proxim, in collaboration with POP Shoes, Go Sport, and Skechers. With the campaign’s completion, no less than $47,500 was donated to Leucan: "Our loyal customers took every opportunity to show their great generosity and support for children affected by pediatric cancer. We want to highlight the work of our teams and thank them for their mobilization and commitment throughout this campaign; they are at the heart of this great success.", emphasized André Côté, general manager of the POP Shoes and GO Sport banners.

A total of $47,500 was donated to Leucan, more than $5,000 above last year. Marketing director Claudie Laroche stirred a wave of emotions when revealing the final campaign result.
A successful campaign!
The final campaign amount was revealed during a benefit lunch in Deschaillons-sur-Saint-Laurent, where the headquarters of the POP Shoes and GO Sport banners are located. Employees gathered, along with store franchisees, Leucan families, representatives from Skechers, and Jacques Tremblay, director of major gifts and partnerships, Nord-du-Québec. Emotions ran high when unveiling the large check, announcing more than $5,000 above last year. What a success!
Skechers, an important partner
As part of this campaign, which ran from September 9 to October 23, POP Shoes and GO Sport engaged and raised awareness among their customers for Leucan’s cause. Throughout the month, several fundraising initiatives were offered to customers of POP Shoes and GO Sport retailers, including the option to purchase a Ladybug Donation in support of Leucan with a donation added to the bill. Also, $1 was donated to the Association for each Skechers brand product sold at these retailers. "When we were approached to team up with POP Shoes and GO Sport for the Leucan campaign, we knew we were going to achieve great things.", explained Stephan Frisko, Skechers representative in Quebec, to the crowd just minutes before revealing the final amount.

They took on the Leucan Shaved Heads Challenge
In fact, some employees of Côté-Reco, the group behind the POP Shoes and GO Sport stores, even decided to take one more step by putting their heads on the line in solidarity with children with cancer. With courage and determination, Ms. Johanne Simard, manager of the POP Shoes and GO Sport store in Chicoutimi, Mr. Jonathan Fortin, shoe designer for POP Shoes, and Ms. Claudia Tousignant, warehouse clerk, successfully took on the Leucan Shaved Heads Challenge, raising a total of $4,964.25 for Leucan.
